School Policy Issue

I was sick today, and consequently I missed a day of school. I am a good student, I'll come back the next day and collect my missed work and get it done and in, and I'll do it in a timely fashion.

But, I have been penalized. With what? An unrecognized absence. I didn't have a doctors note because it wasn't that serious, just an average cold. For this lack of doctors note I've been given this dirty, nasty unrecognized absence. Let me tell you why this unrecognized absence is a big deal to me. I get three of them, and once I've used all of them, I have to take the final test for every class I have. Ouch. If I get under three, then I don't have to take them at all. Phew.

Thankfully I've only used one, but already in but just the second week of school. Now I'm under pressure to come even if I am sick, which could end up spreading what I have to others and hurting their chances of not taking the final if they don't need too. Also, it makes me miserable and takes longer for me to recover if I have to be in school and be sick.

I am all for the policy, the chance to not take the finals is quiet attractive actually, but I don't think that being sick and having a parent call in should end up being an unrecognized absence.
